Overview

We offer 24 hours a day non-stop service in harbour towage with the call sign "Hong Kong Tugs". Operating within Hong Kong Waters, harbour towage covers the area from Tap Shek Kok to Tolo Harbour, the whole Victoria Harbour, Kwai Chung-Tsing Yi Container Terminals and Lamma Island.

 

Our towage services cover all types and sizes of vessels (including cruise ships, passenger ships, tankers, container ships, car carriers, bulk carriers and other specialized carriers) calling at Hong Kong.  Our tugs have horsepower up to 6,500 BHP and 85.7 Tons Bollard Pull.  All of them have been designed as “reverse tractor” type with twin 360 degree azimuthing propulsion units under the control of a single joystick, which allows the maximum manoeuvrability and efficiency.

 

HKST is an all-time participant in the construction of all the cross-harbour tunnels in Hong Kong as well as several other significant marine construction infrastructures such as Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Hong Kong Boundary Cross Facilities man-made island, the Three Runway System of Hong Kong International Airport, Integrated Waste Management Facilities Phase I and the first offshore LNG terminal in Hong Kong.  We have also been regularly employed to engage ocean tows, including oil rig, FPSO and offshore windfarm construction vessels in the Asia Pacific Region, on both long-and short-term charters.
