Deck / Engineer Cadet Training Programme

This is a 3-year structured programme of shipboard training specified in HUD Salvage & Towage Division. It aims to provide Deck / Engineer Cadets with the ability for becoming competent local Masters or Chief Engineers serving local tugs and container fleets onboard. Graduates of either the 2-year Diploma or 3-year Higher Diploma of Maritime Studies or the 23-week Junior General Purpose Rating Course under Maritime Services Training Institute are eligible for joining the Deck/ Engineer Cadet stream, while graduates of 2-year Diploma in Engineering (or equivalent) recognized by Hong Kong Marine Department (HKMD) are eligible for joining the Engineer Cadet stream.
